the journey....

This morning I had the privilege of sharing some deep thoughts through valuable life giving conversation with two people I know and cherish. Thank you both for your valuable input and deep reflection. I am reminded of a story of a river, starting its journey off as a small stream, descending the mountain with increasing speed and strength. As it merges with other streams it becomes gradually larger and by the time it reaches the valley it ids is large and majestic river. Now feeling important and confident, it follows its course towards the ocean, its ultimate destiny.As it journeys along it traverses the desert and it begins to slow down and dry out under the hot sun and eventually stops its journey.The wind, seeing the river has lost its confidence and is afraid to move on, comes to help. "Don't worry" 'it says to the river, "just rest and you will dry out under the sun. Then you will become clouds and I will carry you to the ocean. There you will turn into rain, fall into the ocean and thus reach your destination".Skeptical, the river replies "This is very well but can you guarantee that I will become a river again?" This very short but rich story symbolizes the flow of our own life.When we are working towards our goals we can get too focused on how it should look and forget that we ar not alone. It is through community that we achieve where we are headed, not alone. If something you are working towards looks you won't reach your destination, think outside of the box, there is a way, you just need to trust that there is.
